Small Group Opportunities
One of the best ways to grow in faith is in deep fellowship with a small group of Christians. Participating in a small group gives each person an opportunity to go deeper in friendship and care with the small group members. These groups generally consist of 3 to 12 people who determine the activities and schedule for their group. If you are visiting or a new member at Second Pres and wonder how to find your place, one way is to join a small group. ChristCare Small Groups are gatherings of five to twelve people who meet regularly to focus on four acti
vities: community building and care, Bible study, prayer and worship, and mission service. We have seven small groups with 6 to 12 members in each group. Some groups meet during the day, and others take place in the evening. Click here for a full description of all our groups. Presbyterian Women Circles – The Seekers Circles are women who meet at each other's homes to share prayers, study the Word of God, and get to know our fellow sisters in Christ. A new Bible study is selected each year. Circles are a great opportunity for fun and fellowship.
Grief Support - This group meets on the second Wednesday of the month at 4:30 p.m. It is open to anyone who has gone through a loss and would like to meet with others to share what has helped each of us to get through the grief process.
Mystics on Mondays - This group meets monthly to read and study writings from the Christian Mystics. Mystics are Christians who have sought to experience God and Christ in their daily lives through prayer, meditation, and community. Their lives span from early Christian times, through the years, to Christians today. Our discussions are lively, and the readings are interesting from perspectives of Christian faith and history. Womens' Book Group - This group of women interested in feminist theology and women authors meets in members' homes for dinner and book discussion. Contact Pastor Jennifer to learn more about this group.
