Small Group Ministry
If you are visiting or are a new member at Second Pres and wonder how to find your place, one way is to join a small group. You get to know others in the church better, through fellowship, Bible study, devotional time, and service.
We have seven small groups with 6 to 12 members in each group. Some groups meet during the day, and others meet in the evening. Please feel free to call or email Pastor Jennifer if you want to know more about joining any group.
Day meetings
Salt Shakers - led by Shirley Verbos, this group meets at 3 p.m. The members of this group are reading The Call to the Soul .
Addiction Education - this group is interested in reaching out to the congregation and anyone else who wants to learn more about addictions. Jacky Ferguson is the leader, and the group meets from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. on the third Thursday of each month.
Recently Retired - this group is led by Mary Ann Bollinger, and it meets on Thursday mornings from 10:30 to 12:00. This groups meets twice each month; meeting dates will be posted on the church calendar. The members of this group are reading The Joy of Not Working .
New Beginnings - led by Ruth Leach and David Brown, this group meets at 4 p.m. at Ruth's home on the second and fourth Monday of each month.
Evening meetings
Men - this group is led by Duane Wood and meets on Sunday evenings at 7 p.m.
Women - this group is led by Lois Glennon and meets on the last Monday of the month at the church at 7 p.m.
Agape - this group is led by Fran Wood and Judy Ferguson and meets at the church from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on various nights. This group was formed to do drama in the church.
