The became pastor/head of staff of Second Presbyterian Church in September 2007 after serving Presbyterian churches in Pluckemin and Caldwell, NJ. He earned his B.A. from Colgate University (magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa) and an M. Div. from Union Theological Seminary in New York City. He is currently pursuing Doctor of Ministry studies at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA.
Pastor Jeff likes to use creativity in worship services. “The message of God’s love is so important that we need to use every possible means to enable people to experience that love,” he says. Therefore, his worship services may include movie scripts, dramatic
sketches, movie clips, PowerPoint presentations, and other means “to bring the Bible to life.” He feels that “worship should be the best hour of the week.”
One of his main emphases at Second Pres is to help build ministries to youth, children, and their families. Jeff and his wife Kari have two young sons,
Andrew and Aaron.
Another goal he has for Second Pres is “to help people see how the Bible applies to their daily living whether it be as a parent, spouse, business owner, or student.”
“The work of the church is of ultimate importance,” he says. “No other organization does what the church does. God is depending on us
to be his hands and feet, building his Kingdom one person at a time.”
